Jay Kolmar has more than 30 years’ experience as a commercial real estate attorney. He has represented corporate and individual clients in a wide range of matters including acquisitions, dispositions, and leases. He has also represented insurance companies and commercial banks in financing transactions such as construction loans, CMBS loans, and ground lease financing. His decades of commercial real estate practice have seen him gain experience in attendant matters of law including environmental issues and 1031 exchange transactions.
Outside law firms, Jay Kolmar has served as a member of the Colgate University NYC Real Estate Council. He was previously an executive member of the finance committee of Boy Scouts of America – New York City Council and on the board of directors of the New Jersey Special Olympics.
Jay Kolmar earned his JD from Cornell University Law School and later completed a visiting scholar program at Yale University Law School. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading historical fiction, and playing tennis and pickleball.
